When I append a comment to someone else's page, I'll preceed the comment with a link to my page and the date, using syntax like this:
[[User: Strick]] 2003-11-21 --

(People may put their User: page in either the public Data volume, or in the members-only volume, depending on whether they want non-members to see it or not. )
